1. I want to buy a telescope but I don't know which is best. Can you help?

Yes, we can. We eat, sleep and dream telescopes here. We can answer most questions and probably in more detail than you'd like but hey... we're telescope addicts. What did you expect?

2. I've seen something in the sky that I don't understand? Am I going mad?

Don't worry. It happens to all of us. Honest. We've seen most things that the heavens deem to throw at us, and a few more besides. Nothing shakes your faith in science more than your first encounter with a UFO. Maybe you've seen something just a little bit different. Why not drop us a line.

3. How much do you need to know about astronomyto participate?

Nothing, really. Absolute beginners and seasoned professionals are all welcome. All you need is an open mind and a willingness to learn. Boring, officious pedants will be (politely) shown the door. Beards will be measured on arrival and anyone found in possession of a beard longer than, say, 12" will be asked to leave. Or shave it off. Ladies included.

4. What do you mean by Practical Astronomy?

Practical Astronomy means grabbing a suitable 'scope, wrapping up warm and going outside to see what's out there. It means hard work and effort, pushing yourself and your equipment. It means strong nerves and a stiff upper lip, and, more than anything, the ability smile, shrug your shoulders and curse, fluently, when cloud obscures the occultation you've been waiting 4 hours to see. It happens. All the time. And we wouldn't have it any other way.

5. Will you be holding lectures?

We used to hold regular monthly lectures but we stopped these due to poor attendance. We plan to re-start these talks in the near future and they'll be from some of the best, most entertaining, most knowledgeable astronomers the UK has to offer.

6. The contact form doesn't work for me. Can I e-mail you directly?

Yes. We can be contacted directly at admin@luna-astronomical.co.uk
